Chiaro

Would you like to indulge? You can really cocoon with BARISTA CREATIONS Chiaro because it was designed for the sweet harmony of coffee with milk. A carefully selected blend of Kenyan and Indonesian Arabicas gets our lightest roast ever, so when you add milk, it reveals those delicious caramel and sweet biscuit notes.

Origin

To find the right fit, we didn’t hold back in testing plenty of coffees from different countries of origin. We discovered that not all coffees interact well with milk or milk froth. But fine Kenyan Arabica does, and we selected it to be part of the Chiaro blend. It’s known for its beautiful balance of citrus acidity and deep juicy fruit notes. We blended it with Indonesian Arabica from the island of Sumatra. Together, they make a decadent pair – exactly what we set our hearts on for this sweet cup made for smooth recipes with milk.

Roasting

How you roast a coffee plays a big part in whether or not you hit that ideal harmony of coffee with milk. To develop that sweet and inviting taste of Chiaro, we split roast the blend with both splits roasting at a relatively low temperature and for a moderate amount of time – just long enough to develop the coffees’ inherent sweetness.

Aromatic profile

BARISTA CREATIONS Chiaro has hardly a hint of roastiness, and almost no bitterness or acidity you can perceive. It’s all creamy caramel and sweet biscuit notes when you add milk. The baristas in Brooklyn inspired us in the way their light roast values the natural sweetness of coffee and lends a decadent smoothness to the cup when you add milk. We love it as a Cappuccino, but go ahead and get creative – Chiaro is great as Latte Macchiato too – with cow milk or your favorite plant- based alternative: oat milk, coconut milk or soya milk.

Scuro

Looking for the perfect balance of coffee and milk? Savor the flavorful coffee character through the sweetness of milk with BARISTA CREATIONS Scuro. The secret to this ideal partnership is in the meticulous split roasting of selected Colombian and Ethiopian Arabicas. Just add milk and the roasted, cereal and nutty notes will glow in your cup in this perfect marriage with milk.

Origin

How many different blends of coffee origins are there? Countless. But not all coffees interact well with milk. So, we couldn’t leave the ideal marriage of coffees and milk to chance. Of all the origins we tried from around the world, we selected some of the finest Colombian and Ethiopian Arabicas for Scuro. The aromatic potential of these two coffees is punchy and promises a harmonious composition of tastes that land with precise balance when you add milk.

Roasting

The art of roasting calls for a fine balance of temperature, roast time and bean color. Getting it just right is key to striking that great harmony of coffee with milk. We tested lots of combinations until we discovered that to get that ideal flavor balance in Scuro with milk, we needed an extremely contrasted split roasting technique. One part of the blend gets a long and dark roast, and the other is roasted much faster and lighter. When you combine the two, the blend develops that special roasty character that goes so well with the sweetness of milk.

Aromatic profile

We took our inspiration from the baristas in Melbourne – they are the masters of robust, but exquisitely balanced tastes – their roasting and blending lend an aromatic power poised as the yin to the yang of milk. Our BARISTA CREATIONS Scuro shows you how intense your coffee can get while still staying beautifully in balance with milk. It’s just roasty enough to push through milk, and its delicate sweetness tempers its intensity to make it a compelling intense Cappuccino or Latte Macchiato. Taste it with cow milk or your favorite plant-based milk alternative: oat milk, coconut milk or soya milk.

Corto

Are you craving a punchy shot of robust coffee with just a little touch of sweetness? Take a sip of BARISTA CREATIONS Corto with a dash of milk, and let this powerful, dark roasted blend of African Arabicas and Robusta carry you away with its intense notes of roasted coffee and peppery spice. Enjoy its silky texture and lingering aftertaste.

Origin

To create this intense, rich cup that hits a great harmony with milk, we tested plenty of different coffees from various countries of origin and we discovered that not all coffees interact well with milk. We selected a fine Ugandan Robusta to form the base of the blend. It brings the intensity, thick body and syrupy texture you expect to find in a cortado recipe. We blend in the finest African Arabicas to complete this powerful profile. The diversity of the coffees in the blend gives it a real depth of character when you add a little touch of milk.

Roasting

When you roast any coffee, you have to work at that fine balance of temperature, roast time and bean color. But it’s even more important when you want that coffee to be in ideal harmony with milk. For Corto that means split roasting the coffees for a long time in order to unleash the textures we’re looking for in a Spanish-style coffee. The long roast time – where we wait for the bean to reach a dark, rich roast colour – develops an alluring bitterness and that syrupy, thick body.

Aromatic profile

For BARISTA CREATIONS Corto taste we took our inspiration from the dark roasts and thick textures created by the expert baristas in Spain, that is why it is easily recognizable by its raw strength and intense, roasty character. Corto can punch through milk with its rich aftertaste, elegant bitterness, and a thick, textured body. With a dash of hot milk and milk froth crowning the cup, you’ll experience Corto in the traditional cortado recipe’s way. When you add milk, its sweetness softens the bitter note the way the moon lightens a dark night. Taste it with cow milk or with your favorite plant-based milk alternative: oat milk will be a perfect pair.

Volluto Decaffeinato

SWEET AND LIGHT

Delightfully sweet and smooth, Volluto Decaffeinato has the same rich flavours and round body as the original Volluto Grand Cru. The selected pure Arabica beans from South America are roasted lightly and separately to highlight their specificities and reveal the sweet biscuity, fresh and fruity notes. The aromatic profile of these coffees is carefully preserved during the decaffeination process, which respects the coffee bean’s true nature, allowing us to maintain the strength and richness of its aromas.

Volluto

SWEET AND LIGHT

The light and generous aromas of Brazilian and Colombian Arabicas strike graceful harmony in this approachable espresso. There’s a mellow sweet biscuit and fruity acidity in Volluto that knows how to delight. It’s sunny living.

ORIGIN

The Arabica coffees from Brazil and Colombia that go into this blend have been sustainable coffees for a long time now and they give the gold Nespresso pod its true harmony. The farmers are among the original AAA Program troupe and they meticulously care for their coffee and their environment. A naturally processed Brazilian coffee gives Volluto a balanced profile – the edgy freshness eases off as the harvested and processed crop is left to rest and mellow. They call this local coffee tradition reposoVolluto’s other component coffee is an Arabica from Colombia’s mid-range mountains. It’s washed and sun-dried to bring out the soft fruity flavors of the coffee.

ROASTING

Volluto is medium roasted – not too hot, not too long – and given a medium grind to keep it all in harmony. This roast turns the Brazil’s cereal notes to sweet biscuit and keeps the fruity notes of the Colombia alive. The Volluto coffee pod comes out a rounded and elegantly balanced espresso.

AROMATIC PROFILE

Roma

The fragrance wafting out of Rome’s traditional coffee bars is a testament to a rich history of contrasts: popular tastes, tempered by the capital’s elegance. This complexity is mirrored in a subtle roast, balancing intensity and finesse and deep flavor spiked with hints of acidity.

ORIGIN
To hit the complexity of a classic Roman espresso requires starting with the right blend. The magnetic complexity of a Roman roast comes from its signature 70/30 blend of Arabica and Robusta. Inspired by this style, we crafted Ispirazione Roma to be our coffee with the most finesse. We chose a natural Arabica and Robusta from Brazil to give Ispirazione Roma its deep base. Adding a high-grown washed Arabica coffee from Ixhuatlan in Mexico provides a flourish of acidity and delicate green fruit aromatics. This Mexican Arabica grows in rich and fertile volcanic soils, and it’s processed so carefully – the farmers dry the coffee on what they call ‘raised drying beds’ to protect it from the rains. You can taste the results in the cup. The excellence of these coffees – and the complexity of the blend – are an homage to the beautiful story of ancient tradition and modern elegance that you find in Rome.

ROASTING
When in Rome, your sugar-laced bold and dark espresso with its foamy head of hazelnut-hued crema will taste as strong as the Roman Empire in its heyday. The Romans like their espresso served scalding hot and drunk in 30 seconds, and deeply dark. But we wanted to pay tribute to the chicness of modern Rome, and so we gave Ispirazione Roma a subtle light roast. It balances the intensity and deep flavor of the coffee with that hint of acidity that gives Ispirazione Roma its elegance. A fine grind preserves the coffees’ aromatic finesse. It helps keep Ispirazione Roma strong yet mild – true to Rome’s rich history of contrasts.

AROMATIC PROFILE
From the days of Ancient Rome, a great many cultures passed through this metropolis. Different layers of civilization towering up to the present day when Modern Rome adds its layer of elegance to the rich history of the city. Ispirazione Roma, too, is beautifully complex. There’s a subtle balance between the strength of the roastiness, the depth of the woodsy, cereal notes, and the finesse of the acidity and elegant aromatics. Ispirazione Roma is the ideal coffee if you’re after a bold yet graceful espresso – it’s a classic taste crowned with elegance.

Livanto

From this important trading city, sailors navigated the globe in the quest of discovering a myriad of aromas and flavors. Latin American coffees were among the treasures they brought back from their explorations. Ispirazione Genova Livanto’s medium roast brings together in beautiful balance all the rounded flavors of Brazilian, Colombian and Guatemalan coffees, crowned by their classic sweet caramel note.

ORIGIN
True to the character of northern Italian coffee Ispirazione Genova Livanto is an Arabica-centric blend with a complexity of tastes. We began with Brazilian Arabica – an approachable, mellow coffee. Into this base we blended reputable, high-grown Arabicas from Central and South America with malty and fruit profiles that develop beautifully during roasting. We chose them because they bring the delicate aromas and rounded taste northern Italian coffee is known for.

ROASTING
The coffee roasting tends to be lighter in the north of the country. That’s why we gave the coffees in Ispirazione Genova Livanto a medium roast that lands lighter than what you’ll find in the south but is still dark enough to develop those caramel and toasted cereal notes. It gives Ispirazione Genova Livanto that rounded mouthfeel and keeps its delicate acidity intact.

AROMATIC PROFILE
Ispirazione Genova Livanto is a smooth, rounded and delicately aromatic coffee. Its lighter roast develops the smooth and full body and keeps the finer aromas present. You’ll catch a toasted cereal fragrance and a sweet caramel note.

Arpeggio

This exquisite blend is a true reflection of Florence’s cultural significance: An intellectual hub in the heart of Italy, drawing influences from all the country. Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio’s roasting style brings these influences together by combining fruity notes traditionally found in the North of Italy with cocoa notes from the South, culminating in a velvety, dense and creamy cup.

Origin
Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio is a blend of Latin American Arabicas centered around an inherently malty Costa Rican coffee. All the other coffees used are also Arabica, and that unified taste is as magnetic as Florence during the Renaissance.

Roasting
We crafted Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio to pay tribute to the culture of this city which draws from the light North to the dark South. An intense roast of the coffee beans develops the distinct characteristics of each of Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio’s coffees. It may be a blend, but it seeks to let each coffee shine in the cup. The malty aroma turns into the cocoa notes that give this espresso its gravitas.

Arpeggio Decaffeinato

This exquisite blend is a true reflection of Florence’s cultural significance: an intellectual hub in the heart of Italy, drawing influences from all the country. Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio Decaffeinato ‘s roasting style brings these influences together by combining fruity notes traditionally found in the North of Italy with cocoa notes from the South, culminating in a velvety, dense and creamy cup. This creation is shared with lovers of pure flavour, even where they prefer a decaffeinated version.

ORIGIN
Ispirazione Firenze Arpeggio Decaffeinato is a blend of decaffeinated Latin American Arabicas centered around an inherently malty Costa Rican coffee. All the other coffees used are also decaffeinated Arabica, and that unified taste is as magnetic as Florence during the Renaissance.

ROASTING
A dark and deep roast of the Brazil and Costa Rica really pushes the intensity of those cocoa notes. We gave the fruitier coffees a lighter roast for balance in this decaf coffee pod. It’s an homage to the complexity of Florence’s roast style. It gives this espresso dolce its gravitas and its class.

Kazaar

Palermo inspired our long, dark roasting style plus a high Robusta content: hallmarks of this Southern city. At a crossroads of influence from African and Arab traditions, multicultural Palermo made us dream. The result is an exceptionally intense, syrupy, woody and spicy coffee, crowned with very dark, thick crema.

ORIGIN
Ispirazione Palermo Kazaar ’s daring intensity comes from blending four distinct coffees – it speaks to the multicultural heritage of Palermo. It’s a coastal city sitting on the edge of three continents, with centuries of Arabian, Byzantine and Spanish cultural influence shaping it. We picked four bold coffees to pay homage to this history. Traditionally you’d look only to unwashed Robusta to bring brute strength. And that’s what you’ll find dominating the coffee blends of southern Italy. But our washed Robusta is a rare find that balances out the Ispirazione Palermo Kazaar coffee pod with its clean taste and creamy texture. These Robusta farmers process their coffee with the same care that washed Arabica farmers do. It helps add that elegant touch to the robustness in Ispirazione Palermo Kazaar . The other coffees are Latin American Arabicas that lend a natural sweetness to Ispirazione Palermo Kazaar.

ROASTING
We split roast the coffees to bring out distinct qualities of each coffee in the Ispirazione Palermo Kazaar blend. Most of the Arabica and Robusta get an intense roast to develop their bitterness and body. We give the unwashed Robusta a shorter and lighter roast to bring out some of the finer aromatic notes. Ispirazione Palermo Kazaar ’s roast style reflects the Arab and African influence you see across southern Italy’s dark and intense coffees.

AROMATIC PROFILE
Did you catch the scent of spice drifting across the waters from Africa? You’ll taste the audacious bitterness and peppery notes leaping out through the thick syrupy body. Together the Arabica and Robusta balance each other out in this espresso. It reflects both the Palermo coastal lifestyle and its rich history. You can sit back in the sun and enjoy your Ispirazione Palermo Kazaar on the terrace, with everything from the food on your plate to the architecture surrounding you whispering the histories of all who’ve passed through Palermo.

Napoli

From the streets of Naples, the local deep-rooted coffee ritual inspired our dark roasting method, which masterfully developed the coffee to an intense degree. Leavened with Robusta, the result is a velvety, creamy cup with an extremely thick body and a pleasant, bitter aftertaste. A tribute to the roasting proficiency of the Italian capital of coffee.

ORIGIN
We created Ispirazione Napoli as a blend of Robusta from Uganda touched with Arabcia from . We carefully selected coffees that could stand up to the intense roasting this blend calls for – bold coffees that would develop the gritty yet beautiful aromas, tastes, and textures that reflect Naples’ deep-rooted coffee history and traditions.

ROASTING
Ispirazione Napoli’s very dark and intense roast reflects Naples’ traditional dark roasting method. Long ago, you could walk the narrow lanes of Naples and catch the bold aroma of this roast as Neapolitans roast their coffee in the ground floor homes that opened out into the street. During this deep roast, the coffee beans develop gritty yet beautiful characteristics. This is reflected in a thick, velvety body, the creamy mouthfeel, and the delicious bitter note. It takes real skill to roast to such a degree, and the boldness of Ispirazione Napoli ’s roast endeavors to be an homage to the skill we’ve long seen in the Italian capital of coffee.

AROMATIC PROFILE

Ristretto

A drop of deliciousness: the essence of Italy’s iconic drinking tradition. Inspired by the ambassador of all Italian coffees, the ristretto, we chose not to imitate, but to roast our perfect version. Long roasted in part for body, short for brightness and fruit, this coffee is the culmination of all we explored in the emblematic Italian cup.

ORIGIN
Italians say coffee is all about the four Ms of miscela, macinazione, macchina, and mano. Crafting Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano with respect for this Italian classic begins with the blend – the miscela. Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano is a sophisticated recipe of coffees – both Arabica and Robusta – that each lends its distinct personality to create this iconic Italian taste. We crafted it to reflect the elegance and excellence of Italian culture and coffee. On top of a neutral base of Brazilian Arabica comes a dash of Robusta from South India. It adds a kick to Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano. The best of South American and East African Arabicas add a hint of a crisp fruit note to the Ristretto Italiano pod.

ROASTING
Split roasting means you can taste what each coffee brings to the cup. The long-roasted Robusta coffee gives Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano its body, its roastiness, and its cocoa bitterness. Putting the Arabica coffees through a quick roast keeps their bright acidity and fruity notes alive and gives Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano more in the cup. We celebrate Italy’s rich history of master blenders and roasters in Ispirazione Ristretto Italiano.

Venezia

Bridging the Ottoman Empire to Western Europe, Venice has a long history of importing the world’s coffees and expertly roasting them to balance their diversity. The muse for our cup: delicately aromatic, all elements balanced harmoniously, caramel notes and thick body.

ORIGIN
Coffee first came to Italy through the port of Venice. The Venetians developed a finely tuned ability to know their green, unroasted coffee beans and became master blenders. It wasn’t long before Italy’s first coffee shops and coffee houses sprung up here – many with their own roasters serving up their own blends. We wanted to honor this distinct heritage by crafting the Ispirazione Venezia blend to reflect this creativity and know-how. One of Italy’s biggest coffee imports is Brazilian Arabica, and so our experts began here. We blended in reputable, high-grown Arabicas from Central and South America with malty and fruit profiles that develop beautifully during roasting. We chose them because they bring the delicate aromas and rounded taste northern Italian coffee is known for.

ROASTING
This northern trade city is not just skilled in blending, but in roasting too. The coffee roasting tends to be lighter in the north of the country. That’s why we gave the coffees in Ispirazione Venezia a medium roast that lands lighter than what you’ll find in the south but is still remaining dark enough. It gives Ispirazione Venezia that rounded mouthfeel and mellowed acidity with just a hint of bitterness.

AROMATIC PROFILE
Ispirazione Venezia is a mellow, rounded and delicately aromatic coffee that will remind you of coffee beans fresh out of the roaster – taking you back in time to the early days of Italy’s coffee trade. Its lighter roast keeps the delicate aromas intensely present while developing a thick body. In Venezia you can’t miss the distinct cereal fragrance and those notes of sweet caramel that we all find so reassuring.

WET HULLED ARABICA

In northern Sumatra, local farmers have perfected the art of wet-hulling in response to the unusually humid climate, creating an incredibly distinct coffee.

Master Origin Indonesia wet-hulled Arabica is a race against rain. Sumatran farmers wet-hull their coffee because of the humid climate. They remove the parchment when the coffee is soft and moist because exposed beans dry faster. The method is unique to them and produces the classic Indonesian taste – velvety thick, wildly aromatic, notes of cured tobacco.

To create something truly distinct, we introduced the late-harvest technique to our most trusted partner farmers in Colombia.

Master Origin Colombia with Late Harvest uses only high-grown, washed processed Colombian Arabica. Can you taste the lively acidity and the burst of winey red fruit aromas? That comes from those coffee farmers who dared to wait longer before harvesting their crop.

PERU ORGANIC

TASTE

We traveled across remote Peruvian regions in search of some of the finest organic Arabica beans. High up above 1000 meters, tucked into the slopes of the Andes, we found them. Blessed with the meticulous care of smallholder farmers, Peru Organic is an elegant, fruity coffee accented by a smooth toasted cereal note.

ROASTING PROCCESS

After going to such great lengths to source the finest organic Peruvian coffee, it was only natural to take the same care in roasting this coffee. Peru Organic is a single origin coffee roasted in two parts to bring a nuanced complexity to the final cup. The two splits are lightly roasted and highlight the bright and smooth character of the blend while revealing the exotic fruity notes.

MASTER OF ORGANIC

High up in the Andes, Peruvian Farmers contribute to protecting their terroir’s natural ecosystems and deliver an elegant, fruity coffee accented by a smooth toasted cereal note. The farmers’ expert care in soil quality, biodiversity, water management, and climatic conditions leads to both delicious and sustainable coffee.

Organic certification evidences the farms’ competence in growing sustainable coffee. The ambition is to train 1.500 farmers to master the skills of producing coffee through Nespresso’s technical training, improving their coffee and income.

Shanghai Lungo

“World Explorations Shanghai Lungo is a smooth, fruity blend of Arabicas from four distinct origins that represent the diverse taste of a modern city like Shanghai. Trendy and forward-facing, the emerging coffee taste in the city is ever evolving and you are as apt to find an intense blend as you are a milder, smoother cup in the city’s high-end coffee shops. We captured this diversity in our Lungo with a collection of washed Arabica beans that blend together to deliver a distinctively fruity coffee with generous citric and berry notes. Chinese Arabica forms a delicate, creamy body. Together with the Kenyan coffee, it brings a sweet red fruit note with elegant bergamot and citrus aromas, while the Indonesian beans add a touch of wood spice to the blend. Enjoy it like a local by adding a splash of cream and taking it on-the-go.

ORIGIN
Crafted from Kenyan, Chinese and Indonesian Arabicas, this distinctive light-roast blend will please the palate with its smoothness and fine berry notes.

ROASTING
Shanghai Lungo is roasted in two fast and light splits, allowing us to get precise results from each part while preserving the delicacy of the blend. A fine grind and medium capsule load keep it from becoming too mild.

AROMATIC PROFILE
Shanghai Lungo is a fruity blend with aromatic notes reminiscent of oranges, peach and red fruit. Berry notes and fine acidity add to the smoothness of the blend.”
